Budget estimate
When you are still deciding: from basic dimensions, use and location we give an order of cost to support your budget or feasibility study. It is not an offer, and it says which assumptions it rests on.

Design & Quotation Process
A steel building price is only as reliable as the design behind it. At World Steel, your enquiry is reviewed by engineers and estimators before it is priced, so the quotation you receive is based on loads, quantities and a scope you can check, not on a price per square metre. You know what is included, what is not, and how long the offer is valid.
Target times as tracked in the World Steel client portal. Complex projects follow a schedule agreed with you.

Why it matters
Two quotations for "the same building" can differ by a wide margin, and the cheaper one is not always cheaper in the end. The difference usually hides in the assumptions: a lower wind criterion, a thinner coating, cladding that is not included, a vague line on drawings, or freight that stops before the port.
That is why World Steel does not quote from a square-metre rate. Our Technical Department reviews the structure and our Estimating and Bidding Department prices it from quantities, then your account manager sets out the scope and exclusions in writing. When you compare offers, you compare like with like.
What our quotation process protects you from
The more of this we receive with your enquiry, the faster and firmer your quotation. If you do not have everything yet, send what you have: we will tell you what is missing.
| Information | Examples | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Use of the building | Warehouse, workshop, rice mill, showroom, hall, pipe rack | Sets loads, clear heights, openings and finishes |
| Main dimensions | Span, length, eave height, roof slope, bay spacing if fixed | Drives frame size and steel tonnage |
| Site in Guyana | Region, town, coastal or inland, exposure | Wind, corrosion protection and delivery planning |
| Design basis | Code, wind criteria and loads from your engineer of record | The structure is designed to what your engineer and authority accept |
| Cranes and equipment | Crane capacity and span, mezzanines, hung services, solar panels | Collateral and crane loads change the frame |
| Envelope | Roof and wall panels, insulation, skylights, ventilation, gutters | A large part of the cost and of comfort in the tropics |
| Doors and openings | Roller doors, dock doors, personnel doors, windows | Framed openings are designed into the structure |
| Drawings | PDF, DWG or IFC model, architectural or structural | Lets us quote your design instead of an assumption |
| Schedule and delivery | Target date on site, preferred terms (FOB, CFR or CIF Georgetown) | Production slot and freight in the price |
The Process
Every enquiry follows the same path, and you can follow its milestones in your client portal.
Your request and files are logged and assigned to an account manager. You receive access to the client portal to follow it.

Two kinds of answer
Two different answers for two different moments in your project.
When you are still deciding: from basic dimensions, use and location we give an order of cost to support your budget or feasibility study. It is not an offer, and it says which assumptions it rests on.
Steel building costsWhen you are ready to build: based on the design basis agreed with your engineer, quantities from our engineers and a written scope. It is the offer that becomes your contract.

About World Steel
After award
Once you award the project, the design moves from quotation level to production level. Approval drawings are issued for you and your engineer of record, questions are tracked in an RFI log, and production starts only from drawings you have approved.
Where Guyana requires stamped drawings, a locally registered engineer reviews and stamps them on the client's side. We provide the calculations and drawings they need.

PEB costFAQ
Straight answers on scope, design codes, shipping and what happens in Guyana.
Ask an engineerOnly as a budget estimate, once we know span, height, use, location and specification. A firm price needs a design basis and quantities, because two buildings of the same floor area can need very different amounts of steel.
For a typical building, our target is 12 business days from a complete enquiry, with an initial review within 2 business days and a technical review within 5. Complex projects follow a schedule we agree with you. You can follow every milestone in the client portal.
Send the use, dimensions and location. We can start from a concept and tell you which design inputs your engineer of record needs to confirm.
The code and loads agreed with your engineer of record. Our engineers work with codes including IBC 2024, ASCE/SEI 7-22, AISC 360-22, AISI S100-2020, MBMA 2018 and AWS D1.1.
It depends on the delivery terms you choose: FOB Vietnam, or CFR or CIF to the port of Georgetown. Import duties, port charges in Guyana, customs clearance and inland transport are arranged by the client or a local broker.
No. Erection, foundations and permits in Guyana are carried out by the client or licensed local partners. We supply erection drawings, bolt lists and remote technical support.
Yes. Where we see a lower-cost option that meets the same requirements, we show it next to your specification, so you and your engineer can decide.
Share the use, dimensions and location of your building and attach drawings if you have them. Your account manager will confirm what is missing within the initial review.
