PEB Building Systems
PEB components
A PEB is a coordinated system. These are its main components and the points we check for Guyana projects.
| Component | Function | Guyana consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Primary frames | Tapered columns and rafters carrying roof and wall loads to the foundations | Designed for site wind and any crane loads |
| Secondary framing | Supports cladding and transfers loads to the frames | Spacing set by cladding span and wind pressure |
| Roof purlins | Cold-formed Z or C sections supporting roof sheets | Coating suited to exposure; uplift restraint |
| Wall girts | Support wall cladding | Openings and doors framed |
| Bracing systems | Rods, angles or portal bracing for stability | Wind load paths to foundations |
| Roof panels | Profiled or sandwich panels | Slope, rainfall and fastener durability |
| Wall panels | Single-skin or insulated | Driving rain and heat |
| Insulation | Blankets or sandwich panels with vapour barrier | Condensation control |
| Flashing | Seals junctions | Critical for heavy rainfall |
| Gutters & downpipes | Collect and discharge rainwater | Sized for design rainfall intensity |
| Anchor bolts | Connect frames to foundations | Layout supplied for local foundation design |
| Connections | Bolted end-plate and splice connections | Simple erection with local crews |
