Illuminated floats on the eve of Diwali
The Diwali Motorcade is a much-loved Guyanese tradition. On the eve of Diwali, brightly lit floats depicting scenes from Hindu scriptures and festival themes travel through Georgetown and other towns, watched by crowds of families.
The date, route and programme are announced by the organisers each year.
